African Democracy Project: Tanzania

The African Democracy Project is a multidisciplinary initiative that supports the teaching, study and understanding of democracy through a global lens. With extensive support from the University of Dar Es Salaam (UDSM) and the Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC), Wayne State University students documented their personal journeys while in Tanzania via blogs and videos.

On October 19th through November 1st, 2015, students explored the contemporary international connections between Tanzania and the United States. Probing Tanzania's rich history, culture and political landscape, the Wayne State scholars had the unique experience of observing elections, and interviewing Tanzanians of all walks of life  about a variety of topics, including their views of their nation in the broader international community.
